Acceptable Use Policy

morphedra is built for the global research community. This policy defines what responsible use of our platform looks like — and what will result in account action. By using morphedra, you agree to these standards.

Permitted Uses

You may use morphedra to generate, refine, and publish content for:

Peer-reviewed journal publications, preprints, and conference proceedings
Grant applications to funding bodies (NIH, Wellcome, ERC, BBSRC, HEC, etc.)
Conference presentations, posters, and symposium materials
Doctoral theses, master's dissertations, and academic reports
University and institutional course materials, lectures, and educational content
Public science communication and outreach for non-commercial purposes
NGO and public health communications backed by evidence
Academic journal and institutional website content
Clinical education and patient-facing materials (non-promotional)
Commercial use under a valid Commercial License (see Licensing Policy)

Scientific Integrity Requirements

Because morphedra is used in academic and research publication contexts, scientific integrity standards apply directly to how you use this platform. These are not optional.

You must not use morphedra to:

Fabricate experimental results, data, or findings
Generate or present fictitious citations, DOIs, or author names
Misrepresent AI-generated content as human-authored without disclosure
Submit AI-generated text to journals or funders that prohibit it without disclosure
Create visual representations that deliberately misrepresent scientific mechanisms
Plagiarise existing figures, illustrations, or text by submitting them as inputs to "restyle"
Generate content for predatory journals or fraudulent conference proceedings

Best practice we strongly recommend:

Disclose AI tool use in line with your target journal's author guidelines
Include "Figure created with morphedra (morphedra.com)" in figure legends
Have all generated content reviewed by a domain expert before submission
Follow funder AI disclosure requirements (NIH, Wellcome, ERC) in grant applications
Retain original research data and do not use AI-generated figures to substitute for it

Note on academic integrity software: AI-generated text may be flagged by plagiarism detection or AI detection tools used by journals and institutions. You are responsible for complying with the submission policies of the venue you are targeting. morphedra cannot be held responsible for editorial decisions based on AI detection.

Prohibited Uses

Illegal activities

Violate any applicable law or regulation
Infringe copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
Engage in fraud, deception, or impersonation of any person or organisation
Facilitate or promote illegal activities of any kind

Harmful content

Generate content promoting violence, terrorism, or extremism
Create content containing hate speech, discrimination, or harassment
Produce content that exploits, sexualises, or harms minors
Generate content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders
Create graphic violent, sexually explicit, or deeply offensive material

Misinformation & medical harm

Generate deliberately false scientific or medical claims
Create content designed to spread medical misinformation to the public
Produce content that could lead patients or clinicians to harmful decisions
Generate deepfakes or synthetic media misrepresenting real people or events
Create fake news, disinformation, or election interference content

Platform abuse & spam

Generate bulk spam or unsolicited commercial communications
Create bot networks, fake accounts, or artificial engagement
Share, resell, or transfer account access to unauthorised parties
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract model weights or platform code
Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or subscription controls
Use the service for cryptocurrency mining or unrelated computational tasks

Your Responsibilities with Platform-Generated Content

You acknowledge that:

Our platform may generate inaccurate, incomplete, or contextually wrong content
Generated outputs can include plausible but false information ("hallucinations")
Generated illustrations are conceptual and may not reflect exact experimental conditions
All generated content requires human expert review before publication or submission
You — not morphedra — are responsible for the accuracy of published content

You must:

Review all AI-generated content before use or publication
Fact-check claims, statistics, and mechanisms against primary sources
Ensure generated content complies with the target venue's policies on AI
Take full responsibility for any content you publish, submit, or distribute

Research Material Requirements

Valid DOIs from recognised publishers
PubMed IDs and ArXiv IDs
UN document numbers
Patent numbers (USPTO, EPO, WIPO)
Research text you have rights to use
Publicly available research abstracts

✗ Do not submit

Embargoed materials before public release
Confidential or classified research
Patient data or PHI of any kind
Personally identifiable information (PII)
Proprietary or trade secret information
Content you do not have rights to use

Content Generated in Violation

Content generated in violation of this Policy may be subject to the following actions, at morphedra's sole discretion:

Removal from your account without prior notice
Forfeiture of download rights for that content
Retention by morphedra for the purpose of investigating the violation
Sharing with law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required by law

Removal of content does not entitle you to a refund of credits or subscription fees used to generate it. If you believe content was removed in error, contact support@morphedra.com within 14 days.

Enforcement

Scientific integrity breach	Fabricated data, fake citations, undisclosed AI to journals	Permanent termination; notification to institution if warranted

morphedra reserves the right to take immediate action for severe or criminal violations without prior warning. Appeals may be submitted to support@morphedra.com within 14 days of any enforcement action.

All reports are reviewed within 5 business days. Reporters may remain anonymous.
